Bouggler raced for Axom on the flat as a two and three-year-old and was a very consistent performer, losing his maiden tag over two miles at Newcastle in August 2008. He left Julie Camacho that autumn to begin a hurdling camapign and got off to the perfect start the following February when landing a novice hurdle at Kempton for Emma Lavelle.

He was then upped in class significantly when he contested the Grade 2 Mersey Novices' Hurdle at Aintree on Grand National day and got up in a tight finish. It was the perfect start to his hurdling career and he rounded off that season with a good third in the Grade One Champion Hurdle at Punchestown.

It was always going to be tough for Bouggler in his second season over hurdles, but he ran some fine races to finish fourth in the Cleeve Hurdle and third in the Rendlesham Hurdle. He made the perfect start to his 'chasing career when winning at Plumpton in November 2010 but he picked up an injury at the Cheltenham Festival the following spring. He has enjoyed a trouble-free rehabilitation and everyone is looking forward to him returning to the racecourse this autumn.
