Irving is a ten-year-old bay gelding by Singspiel out of Indigo Girl. He is in training with Paul Nicholls.

Irving is one of the most successful hurdlers in training, having twice won the Grade 1 Fighting Fifth Hurdle at Newcastle. His first win in the race came in 2014, when Irving became Paul Nicholls's 100th Grade 1 winner. Last season, Irving made his seasonal reappearance at the north-east track and after looking outpaced down the back straight, he sprouted wings on the turn for home and beat the high-class Apple's Jade in a fantastic finish.

Irving has won eight of his nineteen starts over hurdles and over £250,000 in prize money.
