Spensley is a giant of a horse and trainer James Fanshawe has always thought a lot of him. He did not run as a two-year-old due to niggling problems but made his debut as a three-year-old in May 2009. It took this son of Dr Fong a little while to get the hang of things, but he landed his first race in October 2009 at Leicester.

Since then, he has gone from strength to strength and has landed four races on the all-weather at Kempton. He has enjoyed a good winter's holiday and will hopefully be back on the turf in the spring.
