Buster Thomas is an eleven-year-old bay gelding by Westerner out of Awesome Miracle. He won his first start in Axom colours, at Lingfield in December 2016, having finished second in his only Point-to-Point start in April 2016 for his previous connections, when he caught the eye of many judges with his fine round of jumping and excellent attitude.

He enjoyed an excellent season in 2017/2018, culminating in an impressive win over fences at Wincanton in April. He added another victory to his tally when the winner of a Class 3 handicap chase at Doncaster the following November. After a year on the sidelines due to a tendon injury, Buster Thomas has returned to action in as good a form as ever, winning impressively at Market Rasen in September 2021.

Buster Thomas is a half-brother to the ex-Axom and now retired Grade 3 winner, Shotgun Paddy. As Shotgun Paddy was, Buster Thomas is trained by Emma Lavelle at her state-of-the-art training facilities in Marlborough, Wiltshire.
