EARLY EDITION -

Early Edition is a good-looking two-year-old filly by Dawn Approach. She was purchased in Ireland at the famous Goffs Orby Sale and stood out because of her quality and substance. She is an excellent walker and is a strong and well-made filly. She is out of the Godolphin mare, Newsroom, who won on her debut at Longchamp for Andre Fabre and is by the top-class Dawn Approach, who won the 2,000 Guineas and St James's Palace Stakes as a three-year-old. Her sire has enjoyed a good start to his career at stud.

Early Edition began her career with Sir Mark Prescott and made her debut at Chepstow in May 2018, when running better than was expected to finish a close fifth, but she was unfortunately unable to follow that up until her fourth run at Leicester in July. She finished fifth again on that occasion, but ran well over the seven furlong trip. After this run, she was below par at Thirsk in treacherous conditions and she has since been moved from Sir Mark to Julie Camacho, in the hope that the change of scenery will improve her. She looks set to make her stable debut in the coming weeks.

Flat rating: 63
Note: On 25 September 2018, there were 8,563 (flat turf) horses with an official BHA rating, the lowest being 1 and the highest 130. The median average is currently 69.
