Paul Nicholls
Currently Champion Trainer, Paul Nicholls has been the leading force in National Hunt training for the last ten years. His stable stars include the likes of See More Business, Kauto Star, Denman, Master Minded and Celestial Halo. Paul trains from the picturesque village of Ditcheat in Somerset.
Julie Camacho
Julie and husband Steve Brown train in Malton, North Yorkshire. Axom has enjoyed a long and successful association with the Camacho family and Julie's father, Maurice, trained Avro Anson to finish sixth in the Grand National for us in 1997. Julie's best horse to date has been the smart miler, Rio Riva. Stable visits to Julie and Steve's are always hugely enjoyable and owners can look forward to excellent hospitality and a great atmosphere.
Roger Charlton
Roger enjoyed a glittering start to his training career when Quest For Fame landed the Derby in 1990. Roger has enjoyed numerous Group One successes with the likes of Tamarisk, Patavellian and Tante Rose and has won the Stewards Cup at Goodwood three times. He has trained multiple winners for Axom and his base at Beckhampton in Wiltshire is truly spectacular.
James Fanshawe
James is probably best remembered for his superb handling of Elite Racing Club's brilliant filly, Soviet Song, who won five Group One races. As well as other Group One successes with Frizzante, Arctic Owl, Environment Friend and Invermark, James has also won the Champion Hurdle on two occasions, with Hors La Loi III and Royal Gait. James's unique sense of humour and wife Jacko's wonderful cakes ensure that every owner wants to visit Pegasus Stables!
Richard Hannon
Richard Hannon is one of the most successful trainers in the country and his record with two-year-olds is remarkable. Richard took out his licence in 1970, following in the footsteps of his father. He was Champion Trainer in 1992 and his best horses to date have been the 2,000 Guineas winners Mon Fils, Don't Forget Me and Tirol and more recently, multiple Group One winners, Paco Boy and Canford Cliffs. Owners are assured a very warm welcome at his Herridge base and a morning with the Hannons is always fun.
Henrietta Knight
A former school teacher, Henrietta made an immediate impression on the world of National Hunt racing when she took out her licence in 1989. She is best known for the exploits of Best Mate, who won the blue riband of National Hunt racing, the Cheltenham Gold Cup, on three occasions. Her other stable stars include Impek, Racing Demon, Ederedon Bleu, Calgary Bay and Somersby. Henrietta and husband Terry Biddlecombe enjoy welcoming owners to their yard in Oxfordshire and mornings at West Lockinge are always entertaining.
Emma Lavelle
Emma trains near Andover in Hampshire and was formerly assistant to Toby Balding. She has enjoyed a wonderful career so far with big wins at both the Aintree and Cheltenham Festivals. Emma has assembled an enviable string of horses over the last few years and looks set to make an even bigger impact on the National Hunt scene in the coming seasons. As well as the horses, Emma has also built up an excellent team of people behind the scenes, including assistant trainer Barry Fenton, and visits to Cottage Stables are always a treat.
Sir Mark Prescott
Sir Mark Prescott is one of the most respected and successful trainers in the country. Sir Mark has an outstanding record and his most successful horses have been Pivotal (Champion Sprinter in England), Albanova (Three-time Group One winner), Confidential Lady (French Oaks winner) and 2010 Cheveley Park Stakes winner, Hooray.
