Julie Camacho
Julie and husband Steve Brown train in Malton, North Yorkshire. Axom has enjoyed a long and successful association with the Camacho family and Julie's father, Maurice, trained Avro Anson to finish sixth in the Grand National for us in 1997. Julie's best horses to date have been the smart miler, Rio Riva, and the talented Axom horse, Diescentric. Stable visits to Julie and Steve's are always hugely enjoyable and owners can look forward to excellent hospitality and a great atmosphere.
Roger Charlton
Roger enjoyed a glittering start to his training career when Quest For Fame landed the Derby in 1990. Roger has enjoyed numerous Group One successes with the likes of Tamarisk, Patavellian, Tante Rose, Cityscape and Al Kazeem, and has won the Stewards Cup at Goodwood three times. He has trained multiple winners for Axom and his base at Beckhampton in Wiltshire is truly spectacular.
Anthony Honeyball
We are pleased to have recently introduced Anthony Honeyball to Axom's training roster. Anthony is one of the country's up and coming stars. After riding point to point winners for supremo, Richard Barber, Anthony joined Paul Nicholls as a conditional jockey. It was not long before Anthony turned his hand to training and returned to Seaborough to rent a yard from Richard. Along with partner Rachel Green, herself a former champion point to point rider and top conditional jockey, they were an instant success with their small string of horses. They soon relocated to Potwell Farm, just up the road, but still use the same facilities as they have for years, hence the continued success. Anthony's best days have come with Regal Encore, Man Of Leisure and Fountains Windfall and he trained a five-timer last season. He trains from his beautiful Dorset base and his first horse for Axom was Deja Vue.
Alan King
Alan King began his career in racing as a teenager, working for David Nicholson and later becoming assistant trainer, a position he held until the 'Duke' retired 15 years later. Alan took out his training licence in 1999, training 31 winners in six months, including Anzum, who won the Grade 1 Long Walk Hurdle at Ascot. He moved to Barbury Castle in Wiltshire in June 2000 and his many high profile winners have included Voy Por Ustedes, Walkon, Grumeti, Godsmejudge and L'Unique.
Emma Lavelle
Emma trains near Marlborough in Wiltshire and was formerly assistant to Toby Balding. She has enjoyed a wonderful career so far with big wins at both the Aintree and Cheltenham Festivals. Emma has assembled an enviable string of horses over the last few years and looks set to make an even bigger impact on the National Hunt scene in the coming seasons. As well as the horses, Emma has also built up an excellent team of people behind the scenes, including husband and assistant trainer Barry Fenton, and visits to Bonita Stables are always a treat.
Paul Nicholls
A multiple Champion Jumps Trainer, Paul Nicholls has been the leading force in National Hunt training for the last ten years. His stable stars of past and and present include the likes of See More Business, Kauto Star, Denman, Master Minded and Big Buck's. Paul trains from the picturesque village of Ditcheat in Somerset.
